The road to Wrestlemania begins from the Royal Rumble PPV, we are just a month away from next year’s Royal Rumble PPV.
The Royal Rumble is one of the biggest WWE PPVs, as both the brand superstars take part in it.
The winner of the Royal Rumble match can choose whom he wants to face at Wrestlemania either the Universal champion or the WWE champion.
Last year’s Royal Rumble match was nothing sort of blockbuster as we had legendary superstar plus upcoming superstars in it.
Every year, we get to see surprise entrants in the 30 men Royal Rumble match. In 2016, it was AJ Styles. So as we head towards the Royal Rumble PPV, here are the some of the WWE superstars who could return at the Royal Rumble PPV.
#4. Rob Van Dam
The highflying extreme superstar returned to WWE in 2013, and before that had also made a surprise entry in 2009’s Royal Rumble match which shocked everyone.
However, after making a comeback in 2013, Rob Van Dam didn’t perform for too long, after performing for two-three months he again went off.
But as of now, Rob Van Dam hasn’t been performing in any other company, so WWE fans will indeed be surprised if the highflying superstar returns at the upcoming Royal Rumble PPV.
Because at the end of the day, that what Van Dam has been doing for the last 6-8 years.
#3. Daniel Bryan
It was in 2015 when Daniel Bryan had to take retirement as he injuries were too severe and the doctors didn’t clear him to perform again as it was too risky.
After taking retirement from wrestling, the leader of Yes movement did make a comeback but not as a superstar but rather as the General Manager of SmackDown.
Even though Daniel Bryan hasn’t made any kind of public statement, but according to rumors Bryan could be making a comeback next year, however, if he isn’t allowed to perform in WWE then he will try to go for the independent circuit.
But given the fact how popular he is WWE will not like losing him, so if Daniel is really making a comeback then the Royal Rumble will be the perfect PPV for it.
#2. The Undertaker
This year, one of the saddest moment was when the Deadman dropped his in-ring gear in the ring and left off after he lost to Roman Reign at Wrestlemania.
The fact that WWE never made it clear whether the Deadman has really retired or not has kind of put suspicion whether the Deadman will be making a comeback or not.
Fast forward, without the Deadman, for WWE to pull up a show like Wrestlemania would be a very tough task because whether it’s the Deadman, Brock Lesnar, Triple H or Cena, WWE has been relying on part-timers for making sure they sell out tickets and get more viewership.
And when it comes to Wrestlemania it has become the Undertaker’s show.
Undertaker has already been advertised to be present in the RAW’s 25th anniversary, so if he makes a return in his ring gear then we could also see him making a return at the Royal Rumble match like he did last year.
2016 will always be a special year for WWE fans as they got to witness fantasy warfare getting real.
After almost a decade of absence, Goldberg not only came back but also beat the beast Brock Lesnar in a record time of 1 minute 27 seconds.
After beating Lesnar, Goldberg also won the Universal Champion but dropped it to Lesnar at this year’s Wrestlemania.
The very next night he made an appearance at the end of RAW and said that he will be taking the time-off but before ending his speech he did mention that ‘you never know who’s or what’s next’.
Given the fact how good Goldberg is still is, he could certainly make a comeback at the Royal Rumble match and can have a feud with any of the top superstar of the present roster at Wrestlemania.
So, these were some of the top WWE superstars who could return at the Royal Rumble PPV.
