As we bid farewell to 2017, WWE has gotten one last PPV before they welcome 2018.
The last PPV of this years is SmackDown’s exclusive Clash of Champion, the name will certainly remind of old WWE PPV Night of Champions.
As we look forward to Clash of Championship PPV, several sources like PWInsider have given some hints as to what we’ll get to see at this year’s Clash of Champion PPV.
So, here are the top 5 rumors regarding SmackDown’s exclusive Clash of Champions PPV:-
#5. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn exit from SmackDown
Ever since the rivalry between Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens started, WWE has included the likes of Daniel Bryan and Sami Zayn in the feud.
So far, Shane McMahon had just faced Kevin Owens once, the rivalry between the Commissioner and Owens is still going on. With Sami Zayn now being in the corner of Owens, WWE has made the storyline more complicated.
At the Survivor Series PPV, Sami Zayn, and Owens were shown backstage talking to Stephanie and Triple H, and even in the SmackDown Live, they spoke about joining RAW in case they get fired from SmackDown well that may happen at Clash of Champions PPV as the duo will take on Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura.
Rumours suggest that Sami and Owens would eventually lose the match and then leave SmackDown, however, there are also others who believe that Kevin and Sami may eventually win the match but with some help.
#4. Jinder Mahal losing the championship rematch
After losing the WWE championship to AJ Styles, Jinder Mahal losing streak has continued as he lost to Triple H during WWE Live event in India.
Jinder Mahal in frustration did also turn against the Singh brothers, but as we got to learn from this past week’s SmackDown Live episode, it seems that Singh brothers are back with Jinder Mahal, which makes the whole storyline more complicated.
Anyways, there are chances that Jinder Mahal may end up winning or losing the match. If he wins, then Jinder may end up defending the title at Royal Rumble against John Cena.
However, many believe that Jinder Mahal may lose the match, as WWE might be planning to repackage Jinder Mahal at the start of 2018.
#3. Dolph Ziggler to quite WWE
In the past decade, WWE has wasted a lot of good talents and that trend is continuing even today. Dolph Ziggler is one of the best athletes WWE has, but since the past few years, WWE hasn’t given him a push and kind of stuck him in the mid-cards.
Even Ziggler himself on several occasions has mentioned he is unhappy with the way the company has been using him and he is thinking of making an exit from the company.
For instance, 2017 wasn’t a good year for him, Ziggler’s contract ends in 2019, but there are rumors that Ziggler may leave the company by 2018, and try his luck in the independent circuit.
Unless he is given the push he deserves.
#2. Shane McMahon getting involved in the match
The rivalry between Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens has been one of the top storylines of SmackDown Live, however, the show hasn’t been able to get good ratings, so in order to increase their ticket sales, WWE made AJ Styles the champion at the last minute before Survivor Series PPV.
The adding another big match in the Clash of Champions PPV is a way of making sure that Clash of Champions PPV gets good ratings.
According to several sources the guest referee i.e. Shane McMahon will get involved in the tag team, which will surely change the outcome of the match.
Many believe that Shane could turn heel on the other guest referee Daniel Bryan, and then Shane and Daniel Bryan could have a feud in the future.
#1. Daniel Bryan turning heel
It was back in 2015 when Daniel Bryan’s WWE career came to an end, and since then the leader of Yes movement hasn’t been able to wrestle and was later made the G.M of SmackDown live by SmackDown’s commissioner Shane McMahon.
This past week on SmackDown, Daniel Bryan revealed that Daniel Bryan will also be a guest referee in the tag match between Sami-Kevin and Randy-Orton, which doesn’t make sense at all as Shane McMahon is already a guest referee in that match.
So, all this clearly indicates that either Shane or Daniel Bryan may be turning heel, a major reason behind this can be the fact that Daniel Bryan could be making his in-ring return at the beginning of 2018.
This news was broken by Daniel Bryan himself, so there are chances that Daniel Bryan could leave WWE or sign a new contract with the company.
So, these were the top 5 rumors regarding Clash of Champions PPV.
