Mechanism of Mahindra XUV500 & Tata Hexa:
Mahindra XUV 500: Mahindra XUV 500 comes with 2.2 L diesel engine which can easily produce power upto 142 PS and a peak torque of 330 Nm which can give you a maximum speed upto 240 km/hr. No doubt the car comes with an option of 6-speed automatic transmission and 6-speed manual gearbox.
Not only this, the Mahindra XUV 500 has disc brakes on all the four wheel, in the front, the car is having McPherson anti-roll bar suspension and in the rear wheel, the car has multi-tank anti-roll bar suspension. As the overall weight of the car is 2510 kg this specs of brakes and suspension is perfect for an XUV.
So this is all about the Mahindra XUV 500 specification, now let’s move on to Tata Nexa and have a look at what they have got in their mechanical part.
Tata Hexa: The new Tata Hexa comes with two engine variant and that is the 2.2 L Diesel engine and Varicor 400 Diesel engine. Both the engine are powered with 150 PS maximum power and peak torque of 400 Nm which in compared to Mahindra XUV 500 is slightly powerful. The car comes with three transmission variant i.e. the 6-speed manual transmission, 6-speed automatic transmission and 5-speed manual transmission.
Now coming to the suspension and brakes of the car. The new Tata Hexa comes with four-wheel disc brakes and double wishbone type suspension with helical spring in the front and coil spring type axle suspension in the rear wheel.
This is all about the new Hexa specification. In compared to XUV 500, the Hexa is better than Mahindra XUV 500 in the suspension and brake part. But talking about the refined engine and power transmission, the XUV 500 performs better than the Tat Hexa.
Tata Hexa and XUV 500 Exterior Design:
Now coming to the design, the new Tata Hexa has got a fabulous new fluidic design. The new Tata Hexa is having a flat bonnet and the wheel arches are perfectly designed. The Hexa has got a new LED projector headlamp, also it has got a new LED DRLs in the bumper above the fog lamp which really looks awesome.
In the rear of the Tata Hexa, you get a big chrome belt with the Tata logo in the center, even though the big chrome belt doesn’t look good but is kind of OK sometimes. But the tail light and the rear mirror wiper makes the car looks like a perfect XUv car for India.
Whereas people of India likes more to the Mahindra XUV 500 design, as it is in the Indian road for a long time. But if you compare then I would prefer that Tata Hexa looks great in the front but Mahindra XUV 500 takes over the Hexa in the rear design. So it is all upto you, but the exterior is not much important in India as much as interior and comfort of the car. So let’s have a look at the interior of both the cars.

The new Tata Hexa comes with excellent seats that are only designed to give you premium class comfort when you are in the car. Not only the seats, the car also has a fantastic Harman 5 inch touchscreen display which comes with 10 surrounding JBL speakers, ambient lighting. So Tata Hexa car comes with full amazing features even in the interior of the car, so if you are looking for the good speaker and infotainment system in your car then Tata Hexa is the perfect fit for you.
Coming to the Mahindra XUV 500 interior, it also comes with a lot of features. But it is not only limited to the touchscreen infotainment system and the speakers, the XUV 500 comes with reverse parking camera and sensors, ambient lighting, super comfortable seats, AC vents on every seat row, Keyless start/stop button, Keyless entry, Automatic climate control, cruise control too and it also got Panoramic sunroof. So you see Mahindra XUV 500 has got some more extra features in it that the new Tata Hexa hasn’t.

The new Tata Hexa is marked from 11.59 lakh for the base model to 17.40 lakh for the high-end model. If you look at the price structure and the features of the new Tata Hexa, it is much cheaper because you are getting all those exclusive features in the new Hexa for which you would have to spend some more.
Now coming to the price of Mahindra XUV 500, the base price starts from 12.47 lakh to 22 lakh for the high-end variant. So in comparison to features and specification, the Mahindra XUV 500 is costlier than the new Tata Hexa.

Overall seeing the new Tata Hexa is better than the Mahindra XUV 500, as Hexa has got all the updated features like speakers, infotainment system etc. But things depend on individual taste, so it’s your choice to which one you would like to choose and to which brand you believe the most.
