Here are some easy steps to follow in order to fix this error; I hope these steps will ultimately solve the error.


1: Using Command Prompt

Using Command prompt is a very common way to solve any error regarding Chrome browser. To use command prompt follow the following steps:

  • Type ‘cmd’ in the windows search box and open the Windows Command Prompt

  • Once the Command Prompt isopen type the following commands:

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /all
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew

netsh intip setdns

netshwinsock reset

  • Once you type the commands one by one click enter and wait for the process to end.
  • Once the process is over restart your computer and check whether the problem persists or not.

I hope the problem will be solved by now but if it still persists then follow the remaining steps.


2: Change Your Antivirus Settings

The ERR_NAME_RESOLUTION_FAILED might also be caused due to some settings that you have done on the antivirus that you are using.

Check the security options and all the settings that you have used on the antivirus which might be blocking the browser and causing the error to occur.


3: Restart Your Modem or The Router 

The ERR_NAME_RESOLUTION_FAILED can also be caused due to some issue regarding the internet connection that you are using. To take care of that restart the modem or the router that you are using to connect your PC or laptop to the internet. This might be helpful if any of the above mentioned steps are not working.


4: Clear Your Browser Cache

As told earlier such errors can be caused due to the internet cache or some incorrect settings on your default browser. This might hamper the overall use of the browser in future if it remains unchecked.
