Wrestlemania is WWE biggest PPV of the year. The road to Wrestlemania 34 begins from the Royal Rumble PPV, which by the way is just a couple of weeks away.
WWE creative team has already made up the list of matches that are going to happen at Wrestlemania 34. The list of matches is long because unlike any other PPVs which is 3-4 hours long, Wrestlemania is 6-7 hours longs show.
Anyways, here are the 5 potential matches that are going to happen at Wrestlemania 34.
#5. Triple H vs Braun Strowman
Survivor Series PPV was one of the best PPVs of 2017. After almost a decade, Triple H, Kurt Angle, John Cena and Randy Orton was in the same ring at the same time. The match wasn’t that good but most loved the way it ended.
Braun Strowman literally choked the Game to death. Triple H is playing a heel, WWE made Braun the baby face but they kind of messed with Braun Strowan’s character especially with the things he has done in the past weeks on RAW.
Strowman attacking Triple H does hint a start of a new rivalry and given the fact that Wrestlemania is on the horizon this could certainly lead to a match between the monster and the cerebral assassin.
#4. Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens
For those who don’t know, Kevin and Sami Zayn are best friends in real life. These two now appear as on-screen best friends but it hasn’t been always like that.
They have been in a feud since their days NXT, the rivalry started when Kevin Owens attacked Sami Zayn on his very first night in NXT.
When Sami Zayn arrived on RAW, these two rivalries resumed.
At present, Sami and Kevin Owens are the two number 1 contenders for the WWE championship which is going to take place at the Royal Rumble PPV.
These two superstars do pose a great threat to AJ Styles WWE championship title reign but rumors suggest that AJ Style will be retaining his title at the Royal Rumble PPV.
During the triple threat match, either Sami or Kevin will backstab one another, which will lead to a feud between these two, thereby leading up to a match between them at Wrestlemania.
#3. AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura
In the recent years, WWE has signed multiple superstars, out of all those superstars, AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura has to be the top two names.
AJ Styles in one superstar who has been in almost all wrestling companies from TNA to New Japan Pro, and now in WWE. The phenomenal one has won all the major championships.
And then you got Shinsuke Nakamura aka the king of Strong style. Nakamura unorthodox way of wrestling and his charismatic personality has gained him millions of fans.
Last year during a WWE live show in Italy, AJ Styles and Nakamura had a confrontation which hinted that these two superstars will be facing each other for the WWE championship in the near future.
At this year’s Royal Rumble PPV, Shinsuke Nakamura is one of the favorites to win the Royal Rumble match.
So, a match between Shinsuke and AJ Styles is going to take place and with Wrestlemania coming up, WWE will put this match as one of the main event matches for sure.
#2. John Cena vs the Undertaker
Both John Cena and the Undertaker don’t need any kind of introduction. One is regarded as the leader of the WWE, while the other as the face of the company.
The last time John Cena and Taker came face to face in a PPV was in 2003. In later years also Undertaker and John Cena faced each other but it was either on RAW or SmackDown.
In simple words, John Cena vs the Undertaker is one dream match that fans are dying to see. In fact, John Cena was the first pick to end the Deadman’s undefeated streak at Wrestlemania but the match didn’t happen.
Fast forward, WWE had plans to make the match happen in 2016 at Wrestlemania 32 sadly this time also the match got scrapped as Cena suffered an injury prior to Wrestlemania due to which WWE made Shane McMahon the new opponent of the Undertaker at Wrestlemania.
Last year, the Deadman wanted himself to face John Cena but Vince McMahon preferred Roman Reigns as a result, for the third time the match between these two superstars got canceled.
Moving on, this time WWE may finally make that happen. Word on the street is that Undertaker vs John Cena is going to happen this year at Wrestlemania.
#1. Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns
This is one match which has been in the works since Wrestlemania 33. Brock Lesnar has already set the record for holding the championship belt for more than 200+ days, and will also set be the first Universal champion to hold the title for 300+ days as the current plan is to keep him the WWE Universal champion till Wrestlemania 34.
The reasons why WWE wants to have Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar is because of the fact that they are the two in 22 and 2. Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns are only two superstars who have beaten the Deadman on the grandest stage of them all.
And also for the reason that Brock Lesnar contract with the WWE expires somewhere near in April so before leaving the company Brock would hand the championship to WWE’s Golden boy Roman Reigns.
Roman isn’t expected to win at this Royal Rumble match so to become the number contender WWE will make him win the Elimination Chamber match which is going to take place in the month of February.
The Elimination Chamber PPV will be a RAW exclusive PPV.
If Roman Reigns wins the match then he will become the number 1 contender for the Universal championship match.
And whether you like it or not, Roman is also expected to beat Lesnar at Wrestlemania to win his first ever Universal championship belt.
